I'm about halfway through this book. It's good. I wish the writing were a bit snappier, though. But it's better than Joyce Carol Oates' We Were the Mulvaneys, which I only read about 30 pages of before giving up. It wasn't seizing my attention as quickly as I like a book to do and, quite simply, Jeannette Walls, author of The Glass Castle, was very smart in starting out one of her chapters with, "I was on fire." That's what a gal likes to read before bed.
